We’re thrilled to share that Pawel Skrzypinski will be joining Cheal’s Restaurant as our new General Manager from 25th July.


Pawel brings with him a wealth of experience cultivated over an impressive career in some of the UK’s finest dining establishments. After securing his Foundation Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Business Management from University College Birmingham, Pawel honed his skills in several high-end restaurants, including the renowned 5-star Seaham Hall Hotel in County Durham and Birmingham’s acclaimed Opus. During nearly five years at Opus, he progressed from Restaurant Manager to Director before launching his own successful hospitality consultancy firm.

Notably, Pawel has also worked at prestigious Michelin-starred restaurants such as Simpsons in Birmingham and The Cross at Kenilworth, further enriching his deep understanding of fine dining and exceptional service standards.


Pawel brings to Cheal’s not only his deep expertise in delivering exceptional guest experiences but also a genuine passion for fine wine, refined service, and innovative hospitality leadership.

Pawel’s commitment to excellence extends far beyond day-to-day operations. With a deep passion for fine wine and impeccable service, he has earned significant accolades, including winning the Business, Hospitality and Tourism category in the Future Faces of Birmingham Awards. He has also been a finalist in the prestigious Academy of Culinary Arts Annual Award of Excellence and the celebrated Gold Service Scholarship, underscoring his talent and dedication to the craft of hospitality.


Our Chef Director, Matt Cheal, is especially excited about Pawel’s arrival, confident that Pawel’s wealth of expertise and shared passion for exceptional dining will bring fresh inspiration and even greater excellence to Cheal’s. Matt looks forward to collaborating closely with Pawel to continue creating extraordinary experiences for every guest who walks through our doors.

With Pawel’s arrival, we look forward to elevating Cheal’s fine dining experience even further, ensuring every visit is exceptional and memorable.
